excuses
excessive change orders
unreliable contractors
unsafe workers
schedule slips
We know what it's like when a project meeting
feels like walking through a minefield.
We've faced excessive change orders that made us wonder whether a contractor even looked at the plans.
We've been there too...
It doesn't have to be that way.

Who We Serve
EPC Firms & Partners
You have a schedule and a budget to meet, and when a subcontractor is late or leaves a mess, it reflects on you.
We know projects can fall behind because of change orders and blame between contractors. Utili-Serve handles the entire substation scope ourselves, from grading and civil work to apparatus and relay panels.
This means fewer handoffs, fewer surprises, and one team that takes full responsibility.
Let's Talk About Your EPC Project
Investor-Owned Utilities
Your capital programs are big, your standards are high, and safety is non-negotiable. You need a partner who can handle large, complex projects without adding risk.
Since 2021, Utili-Serve has worked over 3 million man-hours with a 0.89 average TRIR and a 0.79 average EMR. Our crews do everything from engineering and civil construction to building protective relay panels and wiring control houses.
You have fewer contractors to manage and fewer handoffs to track.
Let's Talk About Your Infrastructure Project
Electric Cooperatives
Your members are also your neighbors, so when their power is on the line, you need a contractor who shows up as promised. With a small team covering a wide area, you want a partner you can count on.
Utili-Serve makes every co-op a priority. Our crews arrive on time, keep you updated, and handle everything from site preparation to battery systems and control enclosures.
We help your team do more without increasing risk.
Let's Talk About Your Community's Power
Municipal & Public Power Utilities
Your council, community, and ratepayers pay close attention to every dollar spent and every deadline met. Unexpected change orders or safety issues are tough to explain in public meetings. We understand that responsibility.
Utili-Serve provides clear project scopes, open communication, and one team from start to finish. Your project stays on budget, on schedule, and safe.
We help you assure your community that their power is in good hands.
Let's Talk About Your Public Power Project
General Industrial
Your production schedule doesn’t stop for construction, and every day a new machine sits uninstalled is a day of lost output. Hiring a concrete crew, a rigging company, and an electrician separately adds handoffs, delays, and finger-pointing.
Utili-Serve brings the same careful approach we use on critical utility substations to your facility, with one team handling everything from concrete pads to electrical connections.
We work safely around your people and get your equipment running on time.
The Whole Substation.
One Accountable Partner.
Energy providers across the Southeast have relied on Utili-Serve since 2008
to build, upgrade, and maintain substations up to 525kV.
Your substation needs to be finished on time and built to last. Our crews self-perform every part of substation construction inside the fence, whether it’s a new build or an upgrade. You get one team responsible from start to finish.
Utili-Serve Engineering Services offers representation, engineering, troubleshooting and technical support. With hands-on experience in transmission and generation, we use our utility knowledge to solve your specific challenges.
A lot of what keeps a substation running is underground. We carefully install foundations, ground grids, conduit, duct banks, and drainage.
Placing a large power transformer requires careful planning. Our riggers and operators plan every lift and move in detail, making sure heavy equipment is set safely, without damage, and on time.
Above the foundations, your substation’s steel must be straight, secure, and ready to handle the load. Our crews build structures, install bus, and finish the above-ground work that brings your station together.
Transformers, breakers, and regulators are at the core of your substation, and replacing them isn’t simple. We install, test, commission, and maintain this equipment to keep power flowing and catch small issues before they cause outages.
A substation depends on solid ground. We provide precise grading for proper drainage, strong foundations, and a clean, safe yard that lasts for years.
Taking care of the land around your project helps protect your permits, your schedule, and your neighbors. We install and maintain erosion controls and restore disturbed ground with hydroseeding for lasting vegetation.
Protect your substations from theft, vandalism, and physical threats. We install physical and electrical equipment to keep intruders out and your equipment safe.
If the power goes out, your station batteries keep protection and control systems working. We install, test, and maintain these battery systems so they’re ready when you need them.
Protective relays are your system’s first defense when problems happen. We install, wire, test, and commission protective relay panels and control houses from 4.16kV to 525kV so your protection works as designed.
Protection and control panels are the heartbeat of your substation. Our panel shop team designs and builds these panels in a climate-controlled environment to your exact specifications. We ship panels to your facility field-ready, with quality you can trust.
Some projects demand an extra level of discipline, from nuclear sites to large industrial and commercial builds. We manage the planning, budgets, crews, and risks that bring your project from vision to reality, safely and with the same attention to detail we bring to every substation.
Your facility runs on power, and every hour of downtime costs you. We install and maintain the electrical services, distribution, and equipment wiring that keep manufacturing lines and heavy equipment running safely and reliably.
Everyone gets home safe...every single day.
Safety is more than a slide in our orientation deck.
Before joining a crew, our Director of Safety leads our team members through a mix of OSHA training, classroom learning, and hands-on jobsite experience.

If we need to use a partner, we’ll let you know exactly what they’ll handle and why. Any partner we bring in must meet the same high standards we set for ourselves.
No. In addition to completing turnkey projects, our crews are often deployed for just part of a project’s scope. Our project coordinators communicate regularly and work with other vendors and project oversight to ensure tight schedules and smooth handoffs.
Utili-Serve performs utility construction services for Investor-owned utilities (IOUs), Electric Co-operatives, Municipal and Public Power Utilities, EPC Engineering Firms & Partners, & other energy providers.
Yes, we have crews working on outages every day. Our crews are specialized in working on energized systems. We also perform emergency/storm response work when needed.
We use quality materials, skilled craftsmen, and the right equipment. We will not compromise employee safety or the owner’s equipment for a tight schedule or budget.
Our estimating team and project managers are experts in their field and stay current with market pricing. They take great strides to capture all costs associated with a complete proposal, including the full scope of work.
Low-bidding work and relying on change orders is not part of our estimating model.
Since 2008 we have completed over 10,000 substation projects. We build through 525kV, have over 360+ team members across 30+ specialized crews, and our own fleet of 470+ pieces of heavy equipment. These resources give us greater ability to own and control the project schedule.
Tell us about the project and we will tell you plainly whether it is in our wheelhouse.
